Worship is at the heart of our Christian discipleship and witness, yet some churches across the Diocese do not hold a service every Sunday because they do not have licensed ministers to lead. In some churches circumstances require that services are held at different times each week. In other churches worship is led by lay people who feel ill-equipped or have little training.
This diocesan Scheme, which was piloted in Autumn , is designed to address these concerns and to help make it possible for public worship to take place in every church every Sunday. It enables parishes across the Diocese to discern the gifts of lay people as local Lay Leaders of Worship LLWs and provides agreed training for them, on completion of which they receive a letter of permission from the Bishop recognising them as Lay Leaders of Worship in their parish church.
The commissioning is formally marked by the incumbent in one of the regular services in the benefice. It is a requirement for all LLWs to complete the online Safeguarding courses C0 and C1, and the classroom based training C2 leadership. In order for LLWs in Training the letter of permission from the bishop, enabling commissioning these safeguarding requirements must be met.
Information on basic disclosures can be found here: Safeguarding Newsletter Dec Similarly, for those who, due to another role in church, already have an up to date DBS check, it would not be necessary to obtain a basic disclosure. However, if the DBS check expires and is not renewed due to the LLW no longer occupying the role that required it, then it is recommended that the parish considers obtaining a basic disclosure for the LLW.
LLWs are required to keep up to date with safeguarding requirements. This means attending a refresher course for the highest required level of training, which is C2 leadership.

The best Christian dating advice for anyone, including women, is found by reading your Bible. When you start moving beyond the actual commands in the Bible, the list could be endless for Christian dating advice for women. So I will just have to settle for these 6 pieces of advice. This advice is just some of the things I would tell someone who came into the counseling office. If I had a younger sister, these are some of things I would tell her.
It makes sense to start a list of Christian dating advice for women by talking about who to date and who not to date. As a Christian woman, I know your first priority is to please God, which is why you have thought so much about this whole dating thing. I believe the most biblically wise purpose of dating is to determine if a man and woman should be married. Therefore I also believe that if you are not prepared to get married in general, you should not date. You should only date if you want to see if someone is the right person to marry or not.
Therefore, if you know there is something about a guy that will hinder you from actually marrying him, I would advise you not to date him.

While the following list is brief, it may form a basis for defining the characteristics of the new worship leader the Church will need toward our worship life in the next century. These following ideas are drawn from hundreds of conversations with worship leaders, pastors, artists, and academics over the past 30 years, as well as from my own experience over those same decades.
They are in no particular order, but each represents a subset of other ideas, and a practical list of action steps not represented here. These guiding values and life practices also provide the leader with marking buoys that help one navigate ever-moving cultural waters across a lifetime. This leader is also aware that while music is a powerful liturgical tool, it is far from being the only or even the most effective tool for every worship occasion. This leader is aware of the vitality and power of the Eucharist communion , the cycles of worship in the Church calendar , and the wide range of worship languages available to the worship leader — all absolutely vital for the spiritual formation of every Christian in our pastoral care.
The new worship leader recognizes that many forms of creative expression have formative and lasting value, and are not all measured in their value by their immediate practical usefulness or emotional impact in the gathered worship life of the community. In other words, the new worship leader draws from many pools of creative, cultural expression for personal and life formation, still more pools for community connection and inspiration, and still more pools for leading the worship life of a community.
The new worship leader makes choices to read, listen, and be challenged by a range of theological writings that illuminate the task of the spiritual leader, the worship leader, and the life of the Christian moving through time. The new worship leader is open to the kind of growth that can only occur through conversation and interaction on challenging ideas. The new worship leader is careful to recognize that seeing people become like Christ transcends, in eternal import, the experience of having others affirm us as we express our gifts on a stage.
